Bihar Chief Minister Launches 71 New Traffic Police Vehicles to Enhance Road Safety

Patna, August 2: In an effort to bolster traffic and road safety measures in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated 71 new vehicles for the Traffic Police on Saturday from his official residence at 1 Anne Marg, Patna.

This initiative represents a crucial advancement in modernizing traffic control and enhancing public safety throughout the state.

During the event, the Chief Minister examined the vehicles and engaged with police officials to gain insights into their operational framework and deployment plans.

The inauguration was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, along with DGP Vinay Kumar and various ministers and senior administrative officials.

The newly launched vehicles will be distributed across all 38 districts of Bihar, specifically allocated to DSPs and traffic police stations, to improve monitoring on national highways, state highways, and urban areas.

The primary objective is to enhance traffic management, decrease road accidents, and alleviate traffic congestion.

In his address, Chief Minister Nitish emphasized, "Our focus is on making Bihar's roads safer and more organized. These new vehicles will significantly improve traffic management and public services.”

DGP Vinay Kumar mentioned that the vehicles would be dispatched to their respective districts soon, and police personnel would receive specialized training to ensure their effective use.

This initiative is part of a larger government strategy to modernize policing infrastructure and enhance response times in both urban and rural settings.

Additionally, the government has revealed plans to acquire more modern vehicles and advanced technical equipment in the upcoming months to further strengthen enforcement and public safety.

This initiative comes ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, highlighting the government's commitment to law and order and improving public service delivery.

Previously, on June 19 of this year, Chief Minister Nitish had flagged off a fleet of 520 four-wheelers and 98 two-wheelers designated for the Bihar police.

These vehicles are intended to enhance law enforcement capabilities and improve mobility for crime response and investigations.
